Love in Action

Over the weekend Solomon and I, along with a group from our church, participated in a “Walk for Life” in support of Pregnancy Resources, a local organization that was formed to aid women facing unexpected pregnancy. They offer free pregnancy tests for those unable to see a doctor, parenting classes, and post-abortion support.

To be honest, this was my first walk for anything, but I happen to love everything about a program that lends a great big helping hand with no judgment. I want to be like that! I want to look on people and their circumstances with grace and love rather than condemnation. So I was excited to be just a little tiny part of this event, and take some personal steps (no pun intended) to becoming better at operating in love.

Aside from the cause itself, pretty much everything else about the walk was great too. The weather was perfect, the location was lovely, and the company was pretty sweet too. Our walking buddies were my best friend, Carrie, and her youngest little boy, Seth.  The boys rode along in Carrie’s double stroller, and just enjoyed the view.

It was an easy, two mile walk, which was totally family oriented. It was fun to see people of all ages out having fun together, and encouraging to see parents involving their children in an important and special cause.

What causes are you passionate about? (Here's your opportunity for a little plug.) How do you offer your support to them?
